Humming Tire When Turning.

I got Toyo Proxes FZ4's(225/50/16's) with about 500 miles on them. I put them on and now whenever I make a left turn the tire hums. I'm not sure if it's the same with the passenger side too. I checked the tire pressure and it's fine, about 34 psi. I've never had performance tires on my car, I dont know if this is normal. I also dont know if it could be my driver side front knuckle. I needs to replace it because it doesnt tighlty pinch the ball joint.

Any thoughts?

did you make sure that the rotation isn't backward.. that will make them hum.

Mark, are you sure that its your knuckle that needs to be replaced and not the contol arm/ball joint? If the pinchbolt there isn't tightened enough, I could see it rubbing on the balljoint stud and wearing it it down. If it is your knuckle let me know, there is a junkyard not too far that usually has a few Taurus's in it. I got 2 knuckles and brake assemblies from a 94 taurus for $70.

The tires are facing the right way.

Bill: netviper just PMed and said that he'd ship the Knuckle for $35. I know it would be easier to get it myself, but he went through all the trouble getting it off, I can wait for it to get here.

I changed the ball joints on both sides and there's still a lot of movemnt. I think that the hole got egg shaped and doesnt pinch on the ball joint stud.

I wanted to get the knuckles now but I dont have the cash for the knuckles and the upgrade. If do in the future, I'll let you know.
