How do you replace the rear main seal?

Is it basicaly the same as the front main seal? Should I drill a hole in it then put a screw in the hole and pull it out?

Thanks,
Efren

Is it currently exposed? You should consider replacing the carrier gasket while you're in there.
Yes the screw trick will work. Be careful not to scrape up the mating surface behind it. Maybe 2 screws, one on each side, to get a good hold would be better.

The motor is out of the car.

What is the carrier gasket? I just resealed the oil pan and put in new front and rear pan gaskets.

Right above the rear main seal and slightly to the right is the carrier gasket and plate covering it. Best bet is to replace both at the same time, and just pop the rear main seal out when you take the plate off. Easier to remove the rear main seal but there's also a chance of disturbing the oil pan seal. Good luck!
