So here are my problems:

-Clutch (~$320)
-Tires (~$340)
-Water Pump (? - part only)
-Climate Control Unit (? - part only)
-AC Compressor (? - part only)
-CV Boot (? - part only)

and something is wrong with the steering. It has ALWAYS been loose, ever since I bought the car, there is a lot of play in the steering wheel when you are not turning, and it's like you might as well let go if you hold it in the center, you constantly have to turn it a lil right, then a lil left, then a lil right etc to keep it straight, because when the wheels are straight there is like 4" of play in the movement of the steering wheel. When you jack up the car, you can turn the one front wheel that SAME 4" while the other wheel doesn't move and is resting on the pavement with the weight of the car on it...tell me wtf is with that? Tie rod ends? Linkage? Something? I dunno...

But I am trying to figure out if I should just let insurance have the car for I am guessing around $1,500...or keep it for $1,300 or so and just fix these problems, buy a tail light and have a decent car? Or is it worth it?

Most every car you will put more money into then you will sell that car for so what i think it comes down to is if you like the car and is it worth it to you? others may help persuade you either way but think about it its your car shouldnt that decision be up to you ?

Well I am saying...is it easier/wiser/financially better to ditch the car and somehow get another SHO? Or will another SHO for let's say, 3Gs, have just as many problems as I've run into with this one?

For example, I saw a 94 SHO for sale for 3 Gs, MTX. Silver...but...no keyless entry, no keypad entry, half/half seats, premium sound (not JBL), but the worst part is....150,000 miles and it had oil SEEPING out of the plug wells and it was running so rich it was like sticking your head in a gas can just being BESIDE the car. When it was turned on it ran like SHT too, like some kind of old broken down chevrolet V8 and revved very slow. They didn't even know there was a problem with the plugs, wires, and gaskets till I pointed it out....they thought the only problem was it ran rich and they were selling it for 3 but they promised me it would "be fixed"

That is what I am worried about. If I buy a new SHO, it might have a clutch, and it will have tires, and it won't have body damage....but will the engine run as strong as mine does?

So do you plan on doing the clutch yourself for that cost? It will be around $1000-$1200 if not. Well cars go through tires nothing new. The rest will cost you, but do you plan to do the work? Was the SHO in an accident? If so do you get a check or what?

The telescoping steering link down by the firewall could be loose (has the rack ever been replaced or messed with?). Stick your head under there with a flashlight and turn the steering wheel with your other hand. I havent remedied this problem on my 92 yet, but it may be possible bend the metal back to tight (dont want it too tight).

Clutch job isnt THAT bad. You just need a garage, tools and time.

Yes it was in an accident...and I am going to be able to get the clutch + water pump done free of labor, just parts...I got rear ended, and it will be totalled.
