Well my tranny is still acting up and yesterday on the way home from work I lost third and forth gear and my car was vibrating badly. I then pulled over, put the car in park, walked around it, got back, put the car in drive, and drove the rest of the way home with no problems?!? Any ideas on that one?

Anyway, I have been offered an ATX out of a 94 with 100,000km on it (62,500 miles). What would this transmission be worth? I was thinking of buying it, have it rebuilt with a transgo shiftkit, and then replacing my tranny with it. Also, how much would I get for my tranny as a core?

Remove the tranny pan dipstick and give the fluid a smell. Sounds like what happened to me yesterday. If it smells burned, flush QUICK before the gears wear out. That is what I am gonig to have to do soon. Probably today sometime. Don't want to trash another tranny.

I will take a look at the fluid tonight when I get home. I had it flushed about 6 months ago with new fluid but I think I most likely need a new filter which was not replaced. Could the filter be causing me the tranny problems? This is still my original tranny but yea I don't want to replace it if I don't have to.

Anyone know what I should offer for the used tranny if I decide to buy it?

Well I checked my tranny fluid tonight and it looks as clean as the day I put it in. Still beautifully clean and full...maybe too full. Any thoughts on what overfilling the tranny fluid would do?

Anyone have an idea of what I should offer for the used tranny if I need it? I really have no clue. I will keep you informed of what I find out solidstate.

On another note, where in Ontario are you? Check out www.shopower.com if you haven't already, this is the Ontario SHO Club.

Thanks Axianator for the link. I read it and it does seem possible that this is my problem except that I only lose 4th gear some of the time. Today I drove to work and home 40 min. each way with no problems at all. It seems weird I know and I've never heard of it happening before, but my car is doing it.

Axianator:
NortherSHO: I don't know if this is the solution to your problem (having never experienced this before myself), but it might be worth a look:
