$$$$$ Hey everyone, I'm just wondering what the going rate is for a cam weld job ... start to finish. I would assume it would be wise to replace the plugs at this time and necessary gaskets, so I guess this should also be included in the total. How much did you pay? $$$$$

I paid $450 to FPS last summer. At the time it was the only shop that had done more than a couple.

If I were to get it done again I'd drive down and visit Kirk Doucette(bag) :) and get the whole nine yards done.

I paid $395 to have Eric (E1 on the forum) weld the cams, insulate the rear harness, and change the oil. Did great work, took pictures, and gives a warranty which NO one else does.

I paid Kirk $825. He came to me (us...a few other people in the DC area). That paid for his traveling expenses, the welds, clean intake, insulated rear wiring harness, new plugs, oil change, gaskets, um...that may be it. Hopefully I didn't forget anything.

IMHO don't matter what you pay - It's still cheaper than toasting an engine!!!!!!!!!!!! Go to Whoever you want that is close and qualified. Other than that...............

Just had mine done in Canada, and considering only the cam welding and taxes, rather than all the other stuff we did while there, it was about $400 US.

And I think I got the US/Canadian $ conversion right, finally! :)

Correct me if I am wrong SHOWHAT9, but that is the prototype Rage Taurus.

No need for corrections, it is the RAGE concept GENIII. AT one time an attempt was made to convince the designer to put it out, but it just fizzled. As I have a TR anyway, I just think that body mod is drop dead gorgeous. Do Google search for Taurus Rage there are a number of different sights that have lots of pictures. The back is just as slick as the front with the exhaust joined and coming out centerline rear. Also take note that I believe it's got 18's on it. Totally impractical, IMHO for everyday driving. boink

Is it hard to change the oil in the Gen III SHO's or something? I wouldn't have the foggiest idea. Never even seen a Gen III engine bay upclose, aside from pics.

That rage body kit does look sweet!
