How much does your SHO weigh??

I was going through the big folder off all the recipts and whatnot from the previous owner, I have only owned the car for about 4-5 months and have never looked through it. Well I found the factory window sticker and whatnot, a buch of recipts from shops and I stumbled upon a little slip from the illinois emmisions facility which said that the car had weighed in at 3695, Ive got an ATX, loaded to the teeth. Is that more than most other SHO owners or is that about average???

The emmisions from my '92 said something like 3,209 lbs, IIRC... Maybe 3,309 lbs, I can't remember.

89-95 Sho Weight

All 89-95 SHO's weighed in at around 3500lbs - A stripped Taurus L weighed in at 3216lbs and adding options increased weight accordingly.

My '89 "stripped model" weighed in at 3380lbs with all the mods (blower kit, etc..) without the cage but a full tank of gas.

My dry 93 atx with very few options and a similar mod package as listed in my sig weighed 3398lbs. This was as measured on a set of Longacre scales.

I think I got about 150lb or more off the front, half or more of that weight removed forward of the frt. axles. The steel hood is 70lb. the pastic hood is about 50lb. Im not shure of the figures I weighed every thing on the bathroom scale and made notes but don't have them handy.I still have the batt. up there but use a 15lb. lawn tractor batt instead of the 46lb batt. The batt. needs to be in the back. I'v got about 450lb total off so far. You can't lighten the engine except for the mounts & AC. I am fabing a alum. alternator/frt. motor mount bracket that will allow the alt. to be about 2 in. lower. I need to redo the my fabbed front mount that works real good now. These weight changes have resulted performance improvments in all areas with the exception of traction out of the turn. I need a Quaife.

89's don't have ABS or bags. This makes the 89's about 100lb. lighter over the 91's & up.

With two people, a tank full of gas and a load of groceries, our '89 was at 4000# even. 2300# on the front and 1700# on the rear.

whos the lightest on here, i havent weighted my car yet, but im going all out on my guttting process, im going as low as possible. blasted atx being so heavy, im gonna have to swap that.

Didnt there used to be a site with a bunch of pictures of his car somwhere? I went to his cardomain but theres maybe 5 pics or so. Id like to find the other pics i saw at one point. Lots of great pics that show the interior stripped. It also looks nice...not like it was just stripped and thats it, but it looks finished.
