How hard is it to pull the motor and tranny from my 90 sho? i need to put in a clutch, and im painting the car, and if its not too hard ill just rip the motor out, detail it, do the timing belt and all the goodies that go along with it, go through the tranny and put in a new clutch and throw it in the car with new motor mounts and rebuilt axels. Whats the easiest way to pull it? Somebody told me its like a 15 hour job?

From what i understand you have to drop the combo. It prolly is a 10-15 hour job, maybe more if you run into problems.

do a search.

Im sure you can pull just the motor out the top. And just the tranny from underneith.

But I am unsure about removing BOTH at the same time.

Really, I see no reason you wouldnt be able to pull the tranny from the top after the motor is out shrug .

Yanking the engine is relatively straight forward, just disconnect everything and pull it out the top. Then pull the tranny out after it. All can be done in a day.

I am in the process of pulling both at once. I will let you know how it turns out. Tfalconier do you still need those seat belt/speaker covers for $20? If SHO we can meet up somewhere or i could swing by and help you out. LMK thumb

If you have access to a BIG hoist or a tractor with a front end loader, the easiest way is to support the subframe with wood or jacks, disconnect the subframe from the car(along with all the wiring and plumbing), lift the car off the subframe and roll the car away.

I'm lucky enough to have access to a lift. I drop the engine/tranny/subframe all together. thumb
