how hard is it to learn to use one of those airguns that attaches to an air comressor? i have one small area on my car that i'd like to get resprayed, but if its not horridly difficult i'd like to do it myself. i'd practice on a few things first, but how hard is it really? and for a moonlight blue 95, it's just one color so would i even need to paint to a seam or can it be blended in? i dont have any experience with this, but its something that interests me. I am a bit of an artist/very detail oriented so that doesnt bother me, jsut wodnering what the learning curve.

Also, any reccomendations of a paint gun? theres a lot on ebay/ebaymotors for cheap, ar ethey worth it, or would i have to spring for a more expensive one to ensure quality?

You probably could find a color code match (touch up) for your car. But with blue, it WILL show. Trying to paint just one section of your car is not a good idea IMO. No matter how close the color is to the original, it still wont match even if you blend it. Even the best body guys that try to blend paint will tell you that. I dont care who you are, if its blended in..I can tell.
You have to take fading, and clearcoat into consideration too. It wont match.

You should go get a duplicolor paint pen/brush, apply it, and see how much different it really is , and youll know right away if its worth it or not. Dark blue is tough...

if painted to a seam then would it be ok? its the front bumper, i guess ill take it somewhere to get an opinion. also, how do paint guys remove orange peel? since we're on the subject of repainting... sand it down and respray correct? or can that be wet sanded out?

Get the paint color matched to the area that you will be painting rather than going by the color code. If your not respraying the entire panel you will want to blend the color rather than painting to a tape edge.

Yes they wetsand with a very high grid... somewhere around 1000. This will dull the clear coat but after the wetsand they buff if, and that will bring back the shine. I have a little experiance painting but not much. One thing that I can tell you is, SPRAYING IS NOT HARD!! It is all about the prep. The more you spend sanding priming sanding, sanding, and sanding the better result. But like most ppl said it is very hard to match that blue. I would leave it up to a professional.
