I have or had a WTB on the site. A few days ago I received a response to it that had pretty acceptable language but they wanted me to reach out to them via email. The email of course was fully spelled out with dot com versus .com. The membership was also just hours old.

I asked them to provide a price and photos. The price was ridiculously low and the photos are not just for another vehicle but are easily reverse image searched to another site.

While I can just ignore and/or block them, I don’t want anyone else getting scammed. I know membership profiles can be added all the time but, screw it, at least make it another step harder for them.

Is this also an issue on facebook? I think I've heard of scamming recently with similar description.

You can add me or another mod to the conversation and I/they can take a look at the member.

Just had one myself for WTB. I was almost fooled until I noticed a PayPal foreign transaction fee.

I will send you both the new members name.

If this is confirmed, is it a long standing member or someone new to sell stuff? Sometimes scammers get through and we have had a long standing member do such things. I can't remember a frequent poster member doing this in a really long time.

I have had a couple of attempts in the last couple of months also. Got a PM from a new member saying his buddy was parting out a car and to contact him. After messaging, it didn't sit right and I didn't buy it. The second PM I got was another new member but the exact same PM.

Yeah I got scammed when looking at WTB two weeks ago of $150. My fault for being so dumb. It won’t happen again. Noticed later a new member.
