You need to have really small hands...haha. laughing

Ok, its been a long day as you can tell. Anyway, I have changed mine twice and I usually take off the support bars (the vertical bars like in the front) and remove the plastic piece mounted to the firewall. Then, I can usually wiggle my hand and the socket in there to change it. It may be easier to take off the intake manifold...but I dont like to take apart more than needed....just more work in my eyes.

It is probably less work to remove the intake and change the plugs and wires than it is to try to do it with the intake on. The intake only takes about 20 min to remove, not long at all. Plus with it off you have an opportunity to clean up the valve covers and other things that the intake covers up.

I always take the intake off. If you have oil in the plug wells order a plug well/valve cover gasket set from midwestsho.com. If you put the new plugs and wires in with oil in the plug wells they will go bad a lot quicker.

if youve never done it then its time well spent taking off the intake so you can learn now. plus i think its better to take it off so you can really look into the plug wells and see if there is any crap in them. plus if you have an atx its a tad easier if you remove the intake in my opinion.

No - you don't have to.

Basically the tools needed are what DHMag said. Taking off the vacuum canister in the middle back of the intake is all I needed to do to get at the middle plug. It is not the slightest bit hard to do with the intake on - unless you want to create extra work for yourself.

oh yeah, i fergot about the canister back there. id rather take out one bolt and replace the plugs rather than remove 16 bolts and have to worry about replacing intake gaskets.
