how 2 get strut tension rod out?

is there any way to get strut tension rod out? it looks like the car was built around this thing. my buddy the "mechanic" banged on the end of it to get off LCA and smashed up the end so the nut wont go back on. ANy suggestions?

first off.... take the hammer from the buddy and hit him with it.....

second off... take the lower control arm off and the thing will pop right out......

so you say it isn't coming out of the arm ... or it isn't coming out of the frame?.....

either way i'd give it a little shot of wd40 or whatever spray lubricant you have around the house..... grab ahold of the the strut rod with a pair of vice grips on that peice with flat sections on either side... and turn it back and forth while putting tension on it in the direction you want it to give..... may take a while.... but it should work

or you could always just cut out the bushing and it would come out that way....just would need new bushings
