I went to tighten my battery terminals yesterday, and they were both very hot to the touch... So hot that I could not leave my finger on them for even a second. I had just got home from about 4 hours of driving. I am not sure if this is normal or not, but thought I'd post something just to find out. It has been very hot outside during the day here this past week... The reason I tightned the battery terminals is because I have been getting slow turns of my starter recently, and I wanted to make sure they were tight. I had the battery tested at Walmart, and it turned out to be OK.....

sounds like you have a loose connection... (DUH)
the heat is from the electricity not making a good connection. Another possibilty would be at the starter. Check it for loose connections. how old is the battery?

I checked the starter yesterday... The part on the side of the starter that has the bolts the cables actually screw onto moves. I noticed that when I attempted to tighten the nut that has the two big cables together... The battery is fairly new, and it now has new terminals on it "Tight" & "Hot".

Yes... I put the new terminals on in the afternoon, and checked the starter connections. I then went for a drive, but did a double check last night... They were hot when I touched them!

sounds to me like something is shorting out. Make sure none of the wires have worn through and are touching metal.:thumb:
