Hello Everyone,

I have a whopping 165 miles on my 2019 SHO. Last night was the first time locked the doors at a business and used the remote. The horn note is horrible. It sounds like something out of a 1955 Ford, not a 2019. Is this the normal note or is this a dealer trip? Seriously, the horn is embarrassing and was just wondering if anyone else has this issue.

For 2019 one horn was deleted. This was relaid to the dealerships via SSM 47664. You can go to the dealership and have them compare to another unit.

If you want it fixed, I bet a 2018 or earlier horn can be retrofitted.

Thanks so much for the quick reply. I will call my dealer tomorrow and see what they can do. The dual note horn would be so much nicer. Good Lord. Why mess with something like a horn?

Did anything else change on the 19 other than the non-electronic telescopic column and rear window shade delete?

Do not see anything for the SHO, but here is one for the Edge and Mustang

SSM 47440 – 2018 Edge And 2019 Mustang– Single Tone Horn – Service Replacement Parts Available

2018 Edge built on or after 23-Apr-2018 and 2019 Mustang built on or after 14-May-2018, are built with a single tone horn.

Service parts for the Edge (K2GZ-13832-K) and Mustang (KR3Z-13832-A) are now available for these vehicles.

Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 413-06 for diagnosis and repair procedures.

Any repairs, or the addition of any parts to affect the sound of the single horn system, would not be considered warrantable.

SSM 47475 – 2018 Various Ford Vehicles – Revised Horn System – Horn Tone Different From Prior Model Year

Some 2018 Ford vehicles have incorporated the deletion of one horn as a running change.

This single horn system will produce a different tone than the previous dual horn system.

Any repairs or the addition of any parts to affect the sound of the revised horn system would not be considered warrantable.

EDGE, ESCAPE, FOCUS, FUSION

I have a 19 and agree, the horn sucks. I honestly thought one of the horns was not working. I was going to the dealership today to compare when I saw this thread
