Having this problem with a 93ATX SHO I am resurecting after a front accident. The air bags deployed and have been replaced and all appears ok. I cleaned and repaired the MFS as was described by older posts and it works just fine.

The horn operates with the key off but does'nt operate with the key on. I have changed a number of steering wheel parts as well as the clockspring and still no change.

The cruise control doesnt work but it never has before the accident but I know the harness from the steering wheel has the cruise control and horn wires in the same connector.

I would much appreciate any help as the horn is really needed where I come from in NY.

Thanks.

Disconnect the speed control sevo under the hood and see it that cures it.

Well I removed the connector to the speed control servo and no change. I did'nt mention that I also replaced the ignition switch to see if there was something not making contact but the horn still does not operate when the ignition is in the on position. Something must be cutting off the power to the horn switch when the key is on.
Any ideas?

The PCM and RKE are both tied in with that circuit through the clockspring contact and speed control. No where is the ignition switch directly tied to the horns though.

Thanks for your input Paul. I did not understand this before I changed the ignition switch a few weeks ago as I was having an number of electrical issues. Most everthing is working except for the horn and it is not working when the car is running.
Could there be any other areas to inspect or check out?

I would take off the steering wheel and see if you have 12V there when the key is on. If not then start working backwards.
