Well the darn hood on the 92 won't stay latched! It seemed that possibly the cable tension would be the culprit, since it seems that the latch is stuck that it won't "click" over into place..

Any fixes/adjustments that can be done to help this? I hit it with liquid wrench with NO help... madflame

Is the cable binding up inside the car? Or, more accurately, is the handle in the car stuck? Otherwise, replace the latch shrug

Also, is the spring intact and where it belongs?

Well the handle does have the tendency to stay in the "out" position after I pull it, and even though I push it back in, now it won't close! I guess I can raid one from one of my parts cars... madflame

Jeremy, check where the cable connects to the latch part under the hood. I'm totally grasping at straws here, but maybe it's bound up under there and needs a shot of WD-40 where the cable attaches. (??)

That is kinda strange, cause mine always stays pretty far out too, although my hood latch has always moved the way it should (knock on wood). Maybe the cable was rubbing somewhere and split shrug It's a stretch, as it's braided metal cable, but anything is possible in a SHO

WD40 works, but try something like white lithium grease in a spray can. Good rule of thumb is to keep your door latch mechanisms, and hood and trunk latches lubricated regularly. If not, you'll have problems. Plus, you'll notice once the hood latch is lubed up, the hood should be able to close and latch without the need to slam it or push extremely hard to get it into the "lock" position.

The lubricant may need a chance to work inside the cable. You might try pullng the lever continually for a few minutes to help it work it's way in there. Perhaps a new cable is in order as well. (again... ??? as I really don't know)

I would think that most speed shops would carry them Jeremy. Advance or another auto parts store even, totally not sure though. Perhaps Tim Tyner could tell you where he got his.
