If you want something like that and functional, there is the guy on here that has the Impala hadlights on his Gen. 1, and he has a scoop kinda like that on the fender so that it goes straight into the air intake. So, yeah, it'll work, just might take some time...

I've got a nifty lil "Eureka ram Air" under my lower radiator support. It's no scoop, but it's a functional ram air. I went down a dirt road one evening, and the following day, my airbox had about 1/8th of an inch of dirt in it.

Mine don't scoop up water.....I still have the hole where the silencer cone went...and there's another tube going from the front of the airbox to behind the headlight. It does make a difference, though. I'm thinking about blocking off the silencer cone hole and just running with the ram air, but I'm worried about heat soak from the pavement.

Then again, I'm trying to figure out how to do a reverse cowl (i.e. 03-04 Cobra style) without dribbling water all over the front bank of plug wires.

Well if you wanted it to be functional you would probably have to make your own custom air intake for it in that spot, unless you put it up more by the headlight.... the only intakes ive seen run into the fender or are up by the headlight

oh....
At first i thought you were talking about the vents... but looking at it now, you circled the NACA ducts.

A member here had one mounted on the front fender on his Gen II. I myself am going to order one for the hood though. :naughty:
I'll post a link in a minute that has the pics and links....

EDIT: http://www.shoforum.com/showthread.php?t=61105&highlight=Naca+ducts
EDIT2: The NACA duct is VERY functional.

Well thank you. I can sell you one if you like.

Yeah the scoop will not be functional in any way unless hooked to the intake. Even then you will not get any gains for it, maybe just a lot of water. Also the location you showed might or might not work.
