Mine was looking pretty shabby, falling apart. Learned that new was unobtainable so I searched the forums for this topic. Itwonder in Sept 2014 started a thread and that got me going. Did a few things differently. I found some Kevlar fabric on Ebay, found the attaching clips. Cut out the old fabric that had the letters and sent to a custom stencil place. So I still have the stencil, more fabric and 42 clips. If someone is interested I can give you all the details. It is laborious, won't come out perfect but sure a lot better.SHO1024201454

Looks good. Do you glue the new fabric on the existing head liner?

You found those big round clips? You can probably sell those clips if you don't need them.

Nice, please send me info!
Remove old fabric. Use old backboard to cut out new material Black Aramid 100% Kevlar ® FR 7 oz Comfort Twill Fabric 61"W Fire Retardant DWR (Ebay) Spay adhesive and then place new fabric. This is the hard part. It will not lay down smooth because of the residual insulation left after removing the fabric. But do the best you can. Maybe have a helper.. Then take the stencil and stencil the letters on to a separate piece of fabric. It's too risky to try and stencil on to the hood pad directly because of overspray. So then cut this piece to size and glue to hood pad. Spraying the stencil is very tricky because if the stencil is not laying flat the paint will creep under. I put this separate piece of fabric on some sheet metal and used a bunch of small magnets to hold the pieces of the stencil down. You will still get some creep but use ab lack permanent marker to touch up. Hood clips are 50 Hood Insulation Retainers Compatible with Ford # 388908-S (Ebay) Good luck. Stencil is available from Stencil Stop. My order number was 14520 or I'll sell my used one for half price.
