Have any of you fixed your EATC buttons without buying a whole new unit? I read the shotimes article, but it won't work in my case as I actually have large holes in the center of all my buttons. I am thinking I could get one of those Mead notebooks and just cut small pieces from the cover to glue over my buttons, but I don't know how to label them and have it look professional. Any ideas?

Somebody mentioned (a while back) cutting electrical tape the same size as the button. Believe it or not, it looks pretty good, and its very inexpensive...

I did that exact same thing!!! (the electrical tape thing) Maybe I'm not the only genius, huh? wink

yes, it looks very good. ALOT better than the "shining lights" @ night. Try it man...it is VERY inexpensive. Only thing with this is, it looks like those buttons are like no longer there. But, I barely notice, I have only had my SHO since July and I know where every function is on the system. Try it... thumbs_u

That sounds like a good temporary fix, but I was just trying to think of a nice permanent fix - buttons labeled and all. I am going to use one of those plastic notebook covers, but I haven't thought of how I will label them yet. Maybe I can find a place to engrave them for me, then I can paint in the engraving.

I have had a 93 and a 94. The the eatc buttons glowed the color of the blue on my 94. The buttons on my 93 glow green. It sucks that they glow differently because I have a perfect row of green buttons that I'm not ever going to use. What should I do?

the green stuff in the button will swab out with some paint thinner, you could always spray a translucent blue into it. i did that on an experimental set i had.

slosho, the 95 units are damn hard to come by, esp down here where i am in lower ny. ive only seen 2 SHOs in the local junkyards (which have upwards of 300 cars each) both 89's. the ones on ebay are pretty expensive. worth it...but expensive.

Look for crown vics too. Or Either the taurus SE or LX i forget. I got an eatc out a regular taurus one time. So they are not just in sho's.

crown vics
sho's
some regular taurus
mark 8's

Hope it helps out some when u are at your local junk yard next time...

Don't forget Town Cars, Continentals, some Explorers, Sables, Grand Marques, Mountainers, and a few full sized trucks. Some of the heads might be a bit different but if its the same style the buttons can be swapped into you EATC head.
