As I was crawling around under the car yesterday, I noticed that there wasn't a "flexplate" on the car. I was actaully able to see the flywheel and teeth. Do our cars come with one on it?

The flex plate can be mistaken for a flywheel from certain angles or vantage points.

The flywheel bolts to the torque converter in an automatic in a rwd. I take it that it is integral to the torque convertor in fwd? Yes I definetly saw the teeth. Near the bottom and up towards the middle rear to the trans. Is it a "inspection" cover for that spot or a whole plate that sandwiches between engine & tranny? Like a Mustang. Maybe my trans has been done in its life. :thumb: I also noticed black rtv sticking out of the edges of the oil pan. Maybe someone was in there at one time also....
