I have an 89 SHO and I'm having problems with my rear tire. It sounds like I'm driving a bus when I'm on the highay. It's a load brrrr... sound coming from one of my rear tires, and the noise gets loader the faster I go. If I turn the wheel left the sound will go away, and even sometimes the nose goes way but if I turn the wheel right the noise will be heard when the wheel is turned. Any Comments to this I would appreciate. thank you SHO drivers.

The alignment out of spec or poor wearing tires could have created a feathered edge on the tread blocks that is creating the noise. You didn't say what brand and model of tire or how any miles on them.

If it is not the tire tread creating the noise, you had better check the wheel bearings for play. I'm not sure about the '89, but the rear wheel hub and pressed-in sealed bearings on my '91 can be bought as an assembly for about $50 at AutoZone. They only stock one per store so you may have to order the other hub or visit another local AutoZone. It is not much harder than removing the rear calipers except that you need the 36mm hub socket for the hub nut.
