Higher wattage headlight recommendations

I just wanted to see what some of you have run as far as higher wattage bulbs and your opinions. I don't want to waste money buying some crap.

I have installed an upgraded harness from suv lights, and they sent me the wrong bulbs, but that's another story. They sent nightguide instead of visonplus. I didn't know I could run higher wattage bulbs now with the harness. I also read a little about Hir halogein infrared, but i'd like to see what everyone has to say. Thank You

It is quite possible that it will melt your headlight assemblies..... Stick with stock wattage or go HID IMHO.

Please,for the sake of everone else on the road don't use HID's in stock housings.

I just got some Silverstar Ultras. Definitely brighter than the standard bulbs.

New lens + silverstars = you wont need anything brighter.

I missed the replies. My housings are in great shape, and the nightguide are better than I thought they would be. I'm not going to put hid's in, if I was I would buy the retrofitted housings.

Maybe i'll try the ultras next time. I had problems seeing in the rain with my silverstars. I thought it was from using rain x washer fluid, but after reading online it seems they can cause issues.

Agreed. I upgraded from the silverstars to PIAA Ultrawhites with a new wire harness and now it's almost too bright, I keep getting flashed at night. Make sure to get your headlights aimed right if you follow through.
