Hey Guys,

So I'm a newb, and debating on picking up a SHO. Currently my daily is a 2000 Tahoe that has around 205k miles on it. But I'm wanting something a little newer with some modern features, and something I don't have to worry too much about.

I'm also looking for something with a little bit of performance. In which I kind of stumbled into the SHO and have been looking into them. Seems a lot of people recommend trying to find a 13 plus performance package, which, I agree, seems it would be nice.

But, there is a higher mileage one with ~150k miles on it for a pretty good price. Normally, higher miles don't scare me too much, I mean, I bought my Tahoe with 145K miles on it.

How does the SHO handle higher mileage. Is it good for 200k without too much trouble? Or would I be looking at another car payment in repair bills?

Thanks,

Matt

I picked up my 2013 PP SHO a month or so ago and haven't had any regrets. I did pay a little more in maintenance and unfucking the **** poor brakes that came with it but it's very well worth. I used to daily drive a 2006 V6 Fusion with front wheel drive and while it was a good car, it just wasn't practical and I started dumping more money into the car than what it was worth.

I would have some money tucked away so you can start off on the right foot and get those fluids changed out, even if the dealership says they changed the oil filter and oil.

The few first things I did when I got my SHO:
  1. Took a picture because it's a SHO.
  2. Scheduled an appointment in advance with my shop.
  3. Oil changed out with full synthetic.
  4. PTU fluid flushed. GET THIS DONE. Having your PTU shit the bed will be a nightmare.
  5. Transmission flushed.
  6. Front Brakes and Rotors
I'm scheduled to get new spark plugs and coil boots here within the next couple of weeks, along with getting my throttle body and mass air flow sensor cleaned.

I did have a few small quirks with the car initially, but as I'm sure you can tell, we got some great folks on this forum.
