High Idle after revving

My 1997 SHO has two problems which may be related. If you rev engine to 2-3K, it never returns to normal idle. It stays up there. You can shut off motor, then start again and it is okay. Also, when at a stoplight, first 10 seconds or so, idle is fine in drive, after that you can feel an engine miss. When you take off, engine runs fine. Also, the service engine light came on today. It has 99K miles on it. Ideas ??

First step would be to identify what's causing the CE light. Most AutoZone stores will read the codes for free, which could shed a great deal of light on the cause(s) for the problems you're experiencing.
