Well most of you guys already know my sho setup.

Now im seriously looking into hi comp pistons , but im asking myself some questions , like what gains I might get from it.

Its either pistons , or a re-ring job (puffs blue @ 8k)

Anyone here has any working shos with high comp pistons?

Oh and please let go the blower , I aint going that route.

James has some forged low comp pistons and a nitrous kit from **** you might talk him out of

as far as high comp pistons, mild gains i think. but the ability to spray or whatever might be nice.

I would imagine not to much. Even with the all the goodies u a have. However some forged 10:6:1 or even the new 12:5:1 with a 100 shot should be an interesting setup. To me, having expirencing boost before I even had mine, I knew I had to have it. (Thanks kris and Tim :p )

Is it worth it? Idk its up to you. Finacially, no but thats every SHO here. Will it be cool as **** to see a 12:5:1 cam'd n20 breathing monster. **** yea! :)

Any plans for n20?...yes no maybe so...

I have seen the numbers of 3-4 percent torque ( hp ?)gains with each full point of compression ratio raised. It just a very crude estimate.

Don't forget higher compression is going to yeild a broader tq curve before the engine dies out.

270 HP Wheels
320 HP Crank

My best guess...

I little shot of NOS, like 50 HP would go a long way with a 12:5:1 Setup. That little of a shot would help cool down the piston area at high rpm and add a little power...

320 HP Wheels on the button
370 HP Crank

And a very impressive tq curve.

Just curious how you arrived at those numbers since very few N/A SHOs hit 300hp at the crank.

Has anyone done a H/C motor/nitrous? I know n20 loves HC and I bet with a setup like brains, I bet 450chp is attainable. But I also bet the Tq would be insane!!

I would like to know where you came up with the number of 300chp shos

I'm just saying I haven't seen many dynos for 300hp+ N/A SHO's. I know about Ernies with a lot of mods and not exactly a street car. Ive seen illSHOyou throw around alot of numbers with not much backing it up so I was just asking. So it would be good to see a 300hp+ dyno on a N/A SHO.

It would be a sad day to have 12:5:1 compression and not over 300 hp crank.

How do you figure not?

Never said not just asking where you got the estimates from. Know of someone with a similar setup to reference? Something used to calculate the numbers?

So I can't ask for background information?

I haven't seen many dyno's for N/A SHO's over 300+ with out spaying so justing looking for more information.

Baby Jesus shops at SHOSource.

Your greatest qualities are showing. :)

300chp is about 255whp (15% loss). I know ernie and area 91 marked above that number so there are 300chp shos.

Never said there wasn't, just said there were a "few". His numbers were 320hp so just curious where he came up with the numbers.

Thanks this helps a little to show a 300hp motor which i have known of a couple. Maybe I should of been more specific it looking for a 300+ N/A motor.

250 Wheel HP + 8% gain with compression, TADA! 300+ Crank

Yep, never back anything up huh?

I was talking to SinisterSHO, and I said it to back up what you said up there. I think you got confused or something.
