I'm gonna be replacing my LPFP with a new pump that I had modified with the Hellcat 525. I've never replaced one on a ford and I saw one video online where there's a clip under the top portion of the pump that looks almost impossible to get off without a special tool because of the limited amount of space given. Just wondering if anyone out there has performed this task and could provide me with any pointers to make the process go smooth. Thanks for looking!!

It is a major PIA in my experience. I would suggest getting a spare of all of the plastic clips that you will be removing. They are a pain to get to and can be brittle with age. I have done this exact install twice and done the removal 3 times. I used a very long zip tie threaded through the connector when I was reinstalling. I did not "connect" the zip tie. I just threaded it through and let the fat end retain it. This allowed it to be out of the way as I put the assembly in and then pull the zip tie to fish it back up to where I could grab it. A good amount of patience and extra time are good also. I walked away a few times.

As far as special tools, the only one listed in the procedure is Fuel Tank Sender Unit Wrench 310-123. There are multiple brands available on Amazon. At only $20, I would suggest it. It is worth it in time and not damaging the lock ring.

I am extremely happy with part now that it is installed. No drive-ability issues at all. The stock system seemed to handle it just fine and now that I am tuned, it is working well also.

Not trying to scare you off. It is for sure doable. I did it in the driveway twice and in a parking lot once. I installed it into my white SHO. Then pulled it from the wrecked car. Then did the install on my red SHO. I would buy the 4 or 5 clips and the $20 dollar tool and plan an afternoon.
