First SHO. Doesn't appear to difficult. 12 bolts in the middle, 2 in the front + others, plenty of sensors to disconnect, hoses, then the throttle body, I read about bypassing the coolant lines. Anything else I should know about? Will the manifold just lift out or will it somewhat stuck?

94 ATX, Thanks

you don't have to remove the intake to do your plugs and wires, it can be done with a 3" extention, universal and another 3" extention for the plugs at the back, the fronts are fairly easy and don't require the use of the universal joint. just a thought, i did mine withoug removing the intake, i have accell wires, you can take the clips that go to the coil pack, and the ends are small enough to feed throught the intake, i cut the old ford wires off. anyhow howevery you do it good luck. take your time, and you'll be fine.

yeah it saves alot of time not having to remove the intake, i find that the intake to head gaskets never usually survive, they have some kinda coating on them that cracks off and you need to get new set of gaskets, just more money to spend in my opinion, and i have a tight budget lol.

Old intake gaskets can be restored by simply cleaning them then spraying them with an inexpensive flat black spray paint.

Been doing that for years, have never had to purchase intake gaskets yet for a SHO engine.

In between the the valve cover and the head around the spark plug wells are circular rubber seals when these go bad they allow oil from under the valve cover to leak into the plug wells

Because no one is born with such knowledge. Nothing wrong with learning how to work on your own car. Also removing the intake allows you to clean out all the carbon deposits inside the intake.

just remove the intake. It's good experience, cuz sooner or later, you're going to HAVE to remove the intake...might as well learn how to do it now when it's not really neccessary rather than waiting until something's *****'d to do it..

but then, I like doing things the hard way...you should've seen me and Huntervf pulling the intake and rear valve cover off Calypso's car after a valve cover gasket got rolled under after a 60k. Took us a collective 5 minutes to get it from fully operational to the rear valve cover removed....

Wondering if trying to reuse it would cause some running issues? Or not. I took mine off for a cleaning of the Cats and Rear exhast manifold. After I got it back together The car wont run right. And it still smokes up a storm. Would it be the intake manifold Gasket. Or did I just get a sensor wet and Now I have to replace it? What do you guys think.
