Hey all, using AllData, part numbers are abbreviated. Can someone explain how to use them to look parts up on Tasca and other sites. For instance:

I know @Texas Marauder really great at part number lookups. How do I search for the highlighted number above as an example?

Thanks!

The numbers that you have are the "Basic" numbers as they are referred to.
A typical Ford number will consist of a minimum of nine digits. The first four are the year and model of the car. The digits in between the dashes determine the part. Lastly, the digits after the second dash are what version of the particular part. The digits that only really matter if you are using your VIN are the Basic numbers between the dashes. The basic number along with your VIN will get you the full number of the part that goes to your vehicle. Most Ford sites will only provide just the Basic number so that you will have to buy it from Ford. Without the full part number you can't really shop around online or search ebay. Don't know if this will help you or not but good luck.

Thanks so much for the explanation, I was already believing that was the truth about those basic numbers. So I should enter my vin and search those Ford sites - it might get me the part I assume.
