Doing a 60K is a big job as far as I am concerned. I did my 60K on my 1995 SHO a week ago. I had 103,000 miles on it. At any rate, I planned my 60K long before I actually did the job. First, I got hold of a Ford SHO shop manual and a Chilton manual for supplement. I read and read and read. Next, I slowly ordered the parts that I need as well as cleaning materials in a span of two months. Then I carefully tackled the job which took me two weekends and four weekdays for a total of 60 hours or so...
I am not trying to scare you, but it is best to really get hold of a repair manual and be familiar with your car. (Internet resources is a great place to get additional information) I would concentrate on your valve adjustment, CPS, belts and front main seal first. I will post my whole entire experience on this forum this weekend.
Get all your tools and parts together (shims, plugs, wires, etc.) before starting the job. I was a rookie on all this with no formal automotive mechanics training...but I did it myself.
On the other hand, if you just want valve adjustment/shim replacement procedure instructions...a straight forward source would be a VHS tape sold by Cincy SHO for $25.00.
Good Luck.
