HELP! Wipers

my wipers are malfunctioning. They work fine while they're turned on but when I turn them off, they go to the straight up-right position. It looks rediculous. My wipers are as far extended as they go. Does anyone have any idea what happened? Thanks in advance.

Do a search for this kinda stuff, guy. I have the same problem and by doing the search on the board, I found that it's most often the motor. It either needs to be replaced or regrounded. And one of these days, I might actually get around to fixing it.
