I'm not sure exactly what it's called or if you know what I'm talking about but does ANYONE know where I could get one? It's on the end of the crank shaft. Any info would be helpful! I swear, if much more goes wrong with this thing, it's GOING OFF A CLIFF!!

Thanks,

Well, what ever it is, the shop found it. It'll be in Tuesday. From what I understand, it's what the crank sensor rides on shrug . Oh yeah, and it's $125 madflame !! I can't take it! For crank and cam sensors along with a motor mount it was SUPPOSED to be $385. NOW, it's going to be ANOTHER $125 PLUS labor!! AHHHHHHHH madflame !

I have them used if you need them. Can ship out on Monday.

Timing Belt Retainer Disc is one possibility (thin washer-like piece), and crankshaft timing gear, cup-shaped stamped piece with 3 cutouts in the sides, bolted to the crank gear itself.

I may even have one new of those too, not sure.

www.neshospecialists.com, my cell #'s on there under contacting.

wow $125 plus labor? I have 2-3 of those sitting on my parts shelf. I didn't think they were worth anything really so I have never thought of selling one.

Well Bruce, looks like you'll get the sale then, and I won't, which means I'll be waiting a bit longer on those SFBs I was going to buy from you. :)

Sho Roller, why would that shutter wheel be bad/broken/missing? It doesn't touch anything to wear out or break. Just curious...

I can picture an unknowing mech using a small prybar to free the crank gear / vane assembly, thus bending it. Once it's bent, it's highly unlikely that it's going to be re-formed to the correct smooth radius, etc. Also, if the vane catches the crank sensor due to improper gapping, etc., you'll bend the vane AND ruin the sensor.

Picture dropping it on the floor also - I've seen that happen (Jay). wink

You know, these cars never cease to amaze me. They will even run with no vane at all. :p You just won't have a tach reading. Granted, at times it's hard to start.....but once it's running you got it made. :D

I sure hope the mechanic on Sho_Roller's ride comes clean about it. If he/she dropped/pried/maimed it, it should be on the shop tab...

Then let the shop owner give the mechanic a slap

Wrong Vane Beth - crank vane missing = no spark. Cam vane missing = "well when the heck to I spit the fuel, man? Now? wait, NOW?" :)

lol I'm actually surprised it would even start. Even though I win the "******* of the year award" for my post, the cars still never cease to amaze me. wink
