Hi...long time owner, first time poster...I have a 95 MTX (bought new in 96) that's got a nasty little cracked area on the dash - it's the lower driver's side corner that my knee hit about every 10th time I got in the car; maybe I'm just clumsy, but does this happen to anyone else?

Short of a new dash, is there an acceptable fix? It's not a huge crack, might be 3/4" or so, but the thin plastic that covers the foam underneath is split 3 ways, not a linear sort of break, and it's right at the curved part of the dash..not a nice flat surface to work with. I've seen those "Dashboard repair kits" at Pep Boys and the like, but they seem kinda hokey to me. Anyway, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Keith

There are places that can repair cracks and re dye the area with good results, I would try that first. The only other options are replacing it with a new dash (if you can even get one), replaces it with a used dash, or send it to some place like Just Dashes and have the thing re-vacuum formed (I got a quote for my '90 dash... $750 eek! , a bit much for a few cracks).

Yeah, $750 is a bit much, I'll try the YP for some local upholstery/interior shops. Thanks!
