Key On Engine Off
176 Oxygen sensor not switching-system is or was lean Left or FrontHO22SSS
219 SPOUT circuit failure, timing defaulted to 10 degrees

Key On Engine Running
136 Oxygen sensor not switching/system lean Left or Front HO2S
538 System did not receive "goose" test
536 Brake On Off open or shorted to ground - BOO

Please tell me this wont be expensive!!!!!!! i dont know much about these codes so PLEASE HELP!!!!

Regarding the 136 and 176 codes, replace the oxygen sensor on the left (front) bank.

Disregard the 536 and 538 codes.

Code 219 indicates the spark timing has defaulted to 10 degrees BTDC. In the event of a SPOUT failure, the ICM/DIS Module generates a fixed dwell and constant spark angle based on CID and PIP signals ("failure effects" mode).

SPOUT is a digital signal with a variable duty cycle amplitude that varies from 0.4 volt to B+. Normally, there should be one SPOUT pulse for each PIP pulse. Possible causes of DTC 219:

-- Damaged ICM/DIS Module.

-- Damaged SPOUT circuit.

To check the SPOUT signal, set your DVOM to 20 volt AC scale (yes, that’s AC). With the positive trest lead, backprobe the DIS Module electrical connecter at the SPOUT circuit (Pin #5 - Yellow w/Green stripe wire). Connect the negative test lead to the negative battery terminal. Then start the engine. If the DVOM reads greater than 1 volt, then the ICM/DIS Module is bad (not responding to SPOUT input).Otherwise you’re looking at some kind of wiring fault (open/short between PCM and ICM/DISModule) or a bad PCM

thx for input, i do have a few questions tho......should i put my stock MAF back in till i get everything fixed? also can i get the o2 sensors from autozone, should i get the bosch OE type or should i go with the denso OE type? do i have to replace the whole y-pipe to get these old o2 sensors out or can i just swap the o2 sensors out? as far as the ICM/DIS module and the PCM how much would those cost me to replace? thx again! :thumb:

The lean 02 sensor code is the only code that could be tied to a MAF issue, but since you got both 136 and 176 codes, I'd suspect a bad 02 sensor regardless.

Like a lot of people, I've got the Bosch replacement 02 sensors on my SHO and they fit and work just fine.

You don't need to remove the Y-pipe to replace the 02 sensors. Spray them down with PB Blaster well in advance and keep it up right until they are out. A warm Y-pipe is better than a cold one with regard to 02 sensor removal. You can rent a special 02 sensor removal socket from Autozone if you want.

If you end up needing a DIS Module (maybe) or a PCM (doubtful), first try posting in the "Want to Buy" forum or check out some junkyards.

ok good thx, one more question, would a bad 02 sensor cause a rough idle? cause sometimes when i go to stop my RPM's drop down to like 700-800 and almost stalls out but doesnt.........im hoping that replacin both the sensors will fix all my problems lol :thumb: :dribble:

That sounds like the idle air bypass valve. It looks like a metal tube above the throttle body. When the throttle is closed, the air for the engine goes through the air bypass valve. When it gets clogged up with carbon deposits or quits working you will have idle problems low and high.

lol great another thing to fix, now can i just clean it out or should i just replace it?

would a clogged/bad IAB or a bad o2 sensor cause a CE light? cause mine will go on once a day for like a minute or so and then go off.

02 sensors will cause a CE light. What MAF do you have on the car right now? Also is the car down on power?
