Well, i left my windows up all day long yesterday during the heat and it caused my moonroof switch to become brittle and break with the window halfway open. It rained on my way home ********* and my sho and I were soaking wet by the time we got home...

Ford, NAPA and a few other places do not have a replacement switch for my SHO and they can get a Contour switch but no sooner than a week. Does anyone happen to have a spare Contour switch as well as the moonroof motor housing they could let go of? I suck a electrical work and I would for sure ****** the Contour switch fix. Anyone want to wire it up for me and ship it down here? I will pay for the parts as well as anything you would want for labor on the side.

Moderators: if this post is stepping over the line in the way of a for sale ad, please PM me and delete this post and I will be happy to send SHOForum the money to post up an ad. :salute:

If you get the parts, and ship them to me, I would be happy to do the work for you and ship it to you - no charge (other than actual shipping).

But I don't have the actual parts myself. It would probably take a week between the parts getting here, then the parts getting there in any case.

But it's an option...

Pick-n-Pull, small electrical switch $2.99 - I'm not sure what the moonroof panel would cost.

I'm currently in St. Louis and can get both for you tomorrow. FedEx or UPS Ground should be one-day cross-state. I can get black, gray, or mocha switch panels unless someone snagged one today. At worst, I can have all the needed parts in the mail to you Monday. I might (with heavy emphasis on the might) be able to throw something together tomorrow at the St. Louis SHO club meet, if the host has soldering stuff.

Hey I went ahead and manually closed the moonroof today so Im not in a huge hurry to get it done now. However, I still dont wanna tackle any electrical work as I would probably burn my hand off, torch my car, and blow up the garage that houses my dad's 500hp toy. :nut:

So if its okay with you, I will order the parts sometime this week and mail them out to ya? I can still use my cover as its not broken (had to apoxy the metal holding plate back on but its solid as a rock) so I guess I will just send you the Contour switch?

hawkeye18, thanks for your offer but since someone closer is willing to do the job, I'll send it to him as I'm a complete tight wad with cash and I dont wanna spend the extra dollar for shipping to your place. :snicker:

Joe should be able to help you out, he knows how to do the mod and did it on my car without me even lifting a finger!

Storm Chaser, find me a moon roof motor!

Liberty, I can walk you through it, it's really easy. Just a litle soldering, and it's done on a work bench, not in the car.

The switch at a Jy, shouldn't be more than 5-10 bucks, plus the solder, and if you don't have one, a cheap soldering iron.

PM me if that's the route you want to take.

No used is fine, mine will open the moon roof and then not bring it back down, or retract the window into the roof.
