Just put new transaxle fluid in and it came flying out of the filler hole. The owners manual calls for 6.2 quarts, I got about 3/4 of that in before it came out of the hole while on the floor jack with just the front end in the air. Need help asap

YOur owners manual is wrong.

The MTX trans has enough fluid in it when the fluid starts coming out of the filler hole. IIRC, it around 3 qts.

I have it filled enough to touch it through the filler hole when the car is on the ground. I just took it for a ride and it sounds like there are nuts and bolts in the trans when I hit the gas. I switched from what was originally in there to royal purple. Please help, i need to take this car back to school with me tomorrow.
thanks

Did it sound like that before you changed it? If so you prolly have a bad bearing in there.

How did you drain the old fluid?

I jacked up the rear of the car and drained it out the, linkage plug? Anyway, I was down in the garage racking my brains out re-doing everything twice, as I did a few other things down there too. I found a broken heat sheild and although I'm not positive, I think that is it. However is there a better way to drain out the fluid?
