hello guys,

the door handle on the rear right door on my 92 SHO wouldnt work for some reason to open the door from outside.. ( i could just open it from inside).. i wanted to take a look at it, i was messing around with the child safety switch lock which is located in the side of the door.. and by mistake i placed the switch in on position.. and now my door wont even open from in and out side.. help please how i can fix this...

thanks

On my '90 I had the same problem with the same door when I bought it, I ended up removing the door panel with the door shut from the backseat, you have to remove the bottom of the back seat to do this and it is a bit of a PITA, but it is possible to then reach your hand in the door and jiggle it open and reset the switch...

Is it possible to reach down through the split and grab the mechanism with the window down?

I really don't know. I was wondering myself whether you'd be able to reach down through the window cavity with the window down and find the mechanism you're looking for?

Removing the door panel and getting the door opend allowed me to repair the locking mechanism and therefore fixed my problem... as for the window cavity I'm sure it COULD work but I would think it would be more dificult
