i think I have a brake problem on my 92 mtx -note that it has the 96 big brake upgrade and when i had it in the shop it recently had the brakes inspected, the guy told me my pads and rotors were just fine.
The brakes will act normal at higher speeds till they slow me down to around 15-20 then the pedal pushes back against my foot and makes a noise similar to grinding gears and i can feel the grinding in the brake pedal. When this happens the steering wheel will move about 90* to the left (if I let go of the wheel) while the car actually stays rather straight with a slight pull to the right that isnt there when im not on the brakes. It doesnt happen all the time. But most of the time when im at lower speeds it will happen. Now this is the reason i put think in italics, when in 1st gear at very low rpms doing like 5mph at idle i will hear this same noise just not as loud and it pulsates. When it does this grinding it keeps pushing back the brake pedal and the only thing that sometimes works to stop the grinding is to left my foot off the brake a second then try again or tapping the throttle(this only works when im still in gear never worked in neutral). Any advice would be appreciated because delivering pizza in a car with iffy brakes is just a little bit dangerous, and stupid because i dont think that this could possibly be good for the car :nut:

When it does that (pulling one side) pull over , and touch all 4 wheels.

hot wheel will tell you the brakes are 'seizing' up , then it could be a couple things depending on if its front or rear.

then we can elaborate on it.

Did the shop do anything with the rotors pads? How did they inspect them?

None of the brakes are seized and they just checked them to make sure they werent warped seized or almost gone, said i had plenty of pads and the rotors were in good shape. None of the wheels were hot. It just stopped the grind noise after i made this post and went for a drive, it was doing it for awhile then stopped when the ABS light went on. So i went into a parking lot and tested it out and yep i can slide again no ABS.

it sounds like an abs problem did they check the metal ring on the axels or the speed sensors? i get similar symptoms when my ABS kicks on, the wheel moves a little and the pedal vibrates, pushing back a little, could it just be that your ABS are always on? is it snowy there?

It could be that something trips my ABS, but now that I went back in the car the ABS light is off again and the same thing happens at 25mph or less, it is not snowy does this on even the newest and dryest of roads even with the most tiny bit of pressure on the brakes. Its annoying the **** out of me, is there a safe way to just disconnect the ABS?

tirerack only has front rotors but brembo ones for $42 sounds like a deal to me, napa and rockauto seem to want $40-50 each for motorcraft rear rotors. Does anyone know where to get a better deal on rear rotors or (stupid question coming up) if front rotors will work on the rear?

ABS motor is definately kicking on. Thats the grinding. I have seen debris (or CV joint grease) on the wheel speed sensor cause that exact thing to happen.

Once a CV boot tears, it sprays the grease all over the hub, spindle, and it gets caked into the vanes on the wheel speed sensor ring and can be very hard to see (there dosent have to be much of it either)

As for the steering wheel turning when you brake, which ever way the wheel turns, thats the good brake (drivers in this case?). The other side is where your problem lies. It's either in the line or the caliper, or the ABS motor. The friction of the road will try to turn the wheels "outward". With equal braking power, they will push on the steering rack with equal pressure and offset each other (it's the opposite for torque steer...your wheel will turn towards the spinning tire, not the one with traction).

I would start by bleedin' the livin' **** outa the passenger front brake.
