Well I finally got my SHO together today, and it's doing something strange. It was doing it when I bought it but then it stopped.

Anyway, when I hook up the battery, the 4 corner lights come on, along with the dash cluster. Sometimes they will blink on and off and I can hear a clicking sound from the dash, other times I hear the clicking sound (seems to be quieter) and the lights are not blinking. I messed around with all my switches to no avail. I also turned the car on and off, still nothing.

Also, the hazard lights are not working. I did try switching on and off the autolamp and it didn't help.

Any ideas?

JDL,

The "Hazard Warning Switch" may be stuck, or worn out. The clicking you hear may be the Hazard Warning relay.

The above is also related to the Multi Function Switch (MFS), so the problem could be in the MFS.

The posibility of an alarm system flashing the "Parking Lights" is also there as you are not the original owner. Usually disconnecting and reconnecting the battery sets off an alarm system.

It is also possible that the prior owner had an alarm system and removed it prior to selling the car. Who knows if everything got reconnected correctly. I had to deal with this situation once and it was a real nightmare.

If the Hazard Warning switch, or the MFS, are not the problem, then its time to start "chasing" wires! rangerj

Thanks guys.

It up and decided to behave again, so I guess that's all for now, I do have to clean the MFS though because I could have used the hazards today... changed some lady's tire on a highway on ramp for her... squint

I kind of hat the same problem. Is your hazard switch kind a sticky and stuff at the base? try pushin it in and out over and over. Also try cleaning. My blinkers and stuff work only when I put pressure on the hazard switch, I have to push it forward. mabe?

Thanks a lot man! thumb Acually it didn't help her much, I was following her to make sure she made it okay and the spare went flat on her. So then we took the tire and tried to find someone to repair it, but everyone had closed like 1/2 an hour before. headbang So she ended up using the phone to call AAA and then we brought her back to her car. shrug

I've always felt that what goes around comes around. I've been helped a number of times by people when I was in a bad situation, so I always try to do the same when I have the chance. lock

Yes, that is exactly the same problem I am having. I think I will take it apart and clean it when I get a chance.
