Hello guys,

my master cylinder in my 92 sho just blew off and wont hold anymore presure so my brake pedal hits down the floor and the brakes slitly catch.

could anyone tell me where to get a good master cylinder for a reasonable price and is it hard to replace it my self or just take the car to the mechanic( how much would he charge to do that job..)

if anyone also can provide steps how to replace that i would really appreciate it.

THank you all SHO GODS..

Rockauto had some good prices ~$50-80. I just priced them. PM me your email addy and Ill try to send you some instructions. You will also need to get your hands on an ABS Bleeding tool. It is a little black box that plugs into the abs connector inplace of the abs computer while you bleed the system. Russ at RCM has them for sale I believe. Without the abs bleed tool you have a very good chance of having very mushy brakes after the job (like I had and just fixed.) As an afterthough, are you sure its the master cylinder and not a brake line that sprung a leak?

I know the master cylinder on my SHO is in need of replacement. I can still stop the car safely, but the pedal is really soft lately, and if I push hard enough, it will bottom out.

What would the dealer charge to bleed the ABS system?
