I'm in the process of my 60K, while I was in there decided to change my cam chains, when tightening the last cam sprocket bolt, lol and behold it stripped!!!

Went to the local Ford dealer and I was told its a non replacement item and they couldn't help me.....

I've called 3 recycle yards and of course nothing is available.

Any suggestions

NY for now, WY for real
It seems to be a standard bolt- a good hardware store is where I'd take a good (same kind) bolt to get a new one.

Check that it's exactly the same size, including threading. If it's too long or too short it might cause a tiny bit of weirdness. Also that it's the same (or better) hardness, so it doesn't break.

Maybe try NESHO specialists. I know a lot of members have extra bolts lying around...
(Some have even LOST a screw or two. )

lol, thanks, I wasn't to sure if there was a cross reference, I'm headed to Can Tire now, I'm sure there isn't any softer bolts than this one.
Thanks :thumb:

Do you happen to have a Ford part number for this? Look for a local fastenal (sp) or other fastener place. They usually are in/around industrial areas/parks.

Just came back from Crappy Tire, this bolt is weird, I have matched it up to an M8 1.25 and tested it and the M8 x 1.25 is to large  there was nothing smaller or similar in size a step down. (either to big or to small)

I will do a search for a fastenal type place tomorrow, and maybe head back to Ford and get a part #

On a side note, I did realize that when the cam tensioners are apart, the right and left have the same guts, it seems that the part that you bolt to the mount area is different for both, but you could purchase the right tensioner and exchange the guts on the left, or vise versa, even the top part will interchange, and my chains are now tight :D , so it seems. We'll see when she's back together.
