At 192,000 miles she's still running strong! Last week I did a compression test and all cylinders were consistently 190-200. I do go through oil to the tune of about 1 quart for every 1000 miles...but I think most of it is leaked out the front seal. Anyway, now that I have some miles on the mtx swap I decided I don't want a car payment, so I'd like to 'restore' the SHO so I can get another few years of daily driving out of it.

I'll be putting my Mustang back on the road in the next week or so so I'll be able to let the SHO sit for a week or two. What I want to basically do is go over the whole car and fix all the little things that are starting to show wear.

Suspension: I need strut mount bearings and an alignment. Rear wheel bearings have been making noise.

Engine: Fix leaky seals, valve shim check, timing belt, water pump?, thermostat, cps? I have fresh pulgs and wires...what else???

Trans: get rid of the crap Autozone clutch, maybe go with the Clutchmasters Stage 1??? Also, fix leaky seals here and inspect the internals.

Interior: fix rattly sunroof...tint windows:)

I don't race this car nor do I have any plans to mod it more than what it is right now. My goal is to simply have a solid running car again that I can enjoy for many more miles in the future.

The previous owner had the car from 15,000-175,000 miles and was serviced at the same Ford dealer that entire time. I called them and they faxed me the service history dating back to '96 and this car was maintained to the fullest:thumb: I was really impressed with it when I picked it up last year...but after having thrown many Autozone parts at it it feels a bit cheap...this leads me to my next question. How much 'better' is OEM compared to whatever else is out there for maintenance items??? Where can I 'skimp' on Autozone parts and where should I definitely go OEM??? I'm trying to put a price list together here...

Any other thoughts/opinions on items to replace let's hear 'em!
