On my recently aquired 95 MTX, I see two shock like devices attached to the two strut towers and then to the engine. Assume they are after market since my ATX doesn't them. Does anyone know what they are? I thought they may be torque limiters. All I know is I have to take one off if I'm going to remove the rear accessory belt. I tried to take pictures of them, but it's in a tight location. Here are pictures of both of them. There's one on each side of the engine.

Thanks!

Those are stock torque limiters and they did come on all MTXs 89-95. They do not need to be used if you have solid MM but they do help with the stockers.

Thanks! I do have reinforced motor mounts so I may go ahead and get rid of them. The engine compartment is tight enough as it is!
