Guys,

I've been chatting to Chuck for a while and seen some of the other cars that he has worked on and some of the radical projects he has on the go. This guy knows his stuff.

If you want them done locally it's definitely worth talking to Chuck otherwise it's a trip to LA and a long weekend.

Look Jesse I am not trying to be an ***. I am tryingto help people out if you don' t want it then so be it. If your going on forever without being welded great for you. I am not here for a ******* match just to help people as yourself so if you cant do it yourself then shut up and let the people that can get the job done. If not prove to the rest that you know what your doing. I have plenty that I can prove.

Dude, relax... Im just implying that i have a major rear main leak. Back off the ledge man! It is an 89 that uses more oil than gas. The engine is actually going to be replaced soon. It burns oil as well. I need to refresh my spare engine before the swap. I'm replacing it because my spare engine hasn't been abused as much as my current engine. I think someone cooked it by running it low on oil.

Gentlemen: I think this is the first time I've seen dissention within this forum of ours. Please relax. No one wants to throw stuff at one another.

Chuck, Jesse has an 89 of course as was just jesting about what a pile it is. He doesn't even have a Gen 3. No worries. I'm glad we have you (chuck) available to us AZ entourage to weld the gen 3 cams. I know I couldnt do it, and Tom admits he doesnt either.

Just had a bad day sorry. For the most part I can't type what I am really saying and the bad thing about computers is sometimes something is said but without seeing the person its hard to see the motions going along with it. Well with that being said I do have a race lined up against a 4.0 Aurora, now time to get them axles in.

Pile

It is alot nicer pile than the silver one. I need to swap the engine, trans and subframe. Then it will be respectable. (It leaks oil out of the rear main badly... and what it doesnt leak.... it burns) I'm going to replace both mains and the valve stem seals before hand.

What clutch set up did you go with Mike? I was thinking aof going with that stage 1 kit with the up graded straps. Who did you go with for parts?

Gen 1's rule man.

Clutch parts: stock stock and more stock....

Valeo clutch and PP from ford's OEM pile. Mike Kelly got me the parts.
TOB was from rock auto and looked like my old one only new.

flywheel: just machined the stock one.

I like it all, grip and everything, though I'm not sold on the TOB yet as I am still breaking stuff in. seems tough to get into gear sometimes.

Cool. I still might go with the stage 1 kit. I like a little piece of mind while I'm beatin the **** out of it. Thanks for the input. The only difference in the stage 1 kit is the heavy duty pressure plate straps. I think there is a revision b TOB that is included as well.

Well, broke once and had a strap bolt back out once. I'm told that in both cases I'm the first one to have had that happen. Since then there's been another failure, but out of quite a large number of those things having been built I got both initial failures. :frown:

And those units are no longer being sold, anyway, so it may be a moot point.

The Pumpkin still has the HD straps, but it's riveted, so I'm not worried. I just put a stock (reman) PP back in the silver car.

I hear good things about the Centerforce kits, though. Do they do the strap modification themselves?

I might have to just stick with stock... cant go wrong. I'm not going to do any racing or anything like that. I just think it is a fun car to play with.... as in pass people like they are parked on the I 10 ha ha.

Mike, that sloppy a$$ cable shifter is what is making it tough to get into gear.
