I'm having a similar issue as we speak. Car is at the dealer right now. Coolant leak through the radiator. Check your coolant to start

Yes check coolant level. I had heat when the engine was at 1500 rpm or higher, would lose heat when idling. Overflow was almost empty, filled it up and ran a procedure to bleed air from the system and works fine now.

There's a reason you're low on coolant and its never good. Need to find out where the leak is or if its getting into the cylinders.

It’s empty except for sludge looking junk. It needs a flush. If I just add coolant to get through the week & do flush over weekend, I shouldn’t be hurting anything, correct?
Any Recommendations for the fluids??

Thanks for your help. Love my SHO!

I'd just switch over to the new stuff (yellowish). It's compatible with all the organic coolants. Prestone with Cor Guard. That heat thing freaked me out in my truck. Low coolant. Had a leaky hose O ring. I hope yours is leaking outward and not inward. Check your oil and make sure it isn't funky looking with coolant contaminating it.

If your de-gas bottle/reservoir is empty, find the leek before you flush the system. You just might make a bigger leak.

Didn't you just do a whole bunch of timing/water pump work? I was going to say to pull the engine cover and take a flashlight and look down and just above the alternator for a freeze plug looking thing to see if your water pump is failing.

Also look in the valley on the engine since you have to pull the intake and replace the cooling system gaskets there when you pull the cover.

Do you have a sweet smell in the interior or residue on the windshield like the heater core is leaking? Not a common thing though.

No work on timing/water pump. My problem was hub/bearings & sensor not lining up correctly.
No sweet smells inside car. I did smell burnt-like coolant after driving car about 1 hour but Today I didn’t smell it, so hoping it was burn off from pouring it. Car is staying little warmer on inside & no over heating.
I’ll put it in shop as soon as I get another vehicle working
Thanks for the info.
If anyone is bored, let me know - Could use someone who knows his stuff.

Yes. After them holding onto the car for nearly a week they told me it wouldn't be under warranty, after they had me under the impression it would be. So the service rep and I had a polite conversation ;). It's all done now, thankfully

So what was causing the issue? Just trying to get all info I can. Mine is still losing coolant but no puddles under car hot air is warmer ... thank goodness for heated seats & steering wheel

My radiator was leaking. But it was a leak I could pinpoint and see dripping out of the car. If there’s nothing visibly leaking I would take a look at the oil and make sure it doesn’t look milky or out of the ordinary.
