Ok heater core is leaking got all the tell tale signs. I plan on bypassing the heater core and then save up to replace it. Just curious as to what I should expect to pay to have it replaced. So I know how much to save. The only good thing is that it is summer now and don't have to worry about it for awhile.

Yo're looking at about $1200+ from a dealer, a qualified local shop might do it for less than a grand, maybe around $800 or so (at least around my area).

Between my and my 2 friends' SHO's, I've replaced 5 heater cores. There's a great thread around here somewhere on all the bolts and pieces to pull. I've got it down to a science now - 2 hrs twelve minutes from the time I start to the time I drive it away for a core. Trust me, it's worth the experience to do it yourself, because you're probably looking at 6 to 10 hrs worth of labor cost to have it done, so roughly $500. So for a $60 dollar heater core, go for the learning experience.

Best of luck,
Matt
