Damn. eek! that much. You have to take the dash board apart right? If it is 10 hours book I sure as **** ain't bringin it to a shop. Is it really hard to do? I'm somewhat inclined but not a ******** mechanic like many here.

It's alot of work. Plan on blocking 2 or 3 days. If you catch on quick maybe an early start on Sat. and finish mid Sunday. Paying someone else- big bucks. Probably anywhere from $800+ with parts.

I started at 9 in the morning and finished by 4:30 with a half hour lunch. It definetely is labor intensive. The whole dash has to come out. You'll have about 100 screws to put back in. You need to disconnect the AC lines on the fire wall too. Get the system evacuated first. Use one of those screw guns with a socket attachment to speed up the process. Take your time and you'll be fine.

if there is a page that would go through all the steps I think I could do it. If there is could someone maybe put the go to highlight on it so I could try it out. thanks alot. dont want to pay $800 + for just a heater core, even though the mornings are starting to suck now (40's) eek! . It's a gen. 1 if it matters.

I got a price of $550 from start to finish. Seems ashame that the actual part was only like 40 bucks, hence why I did it myself.

already bypassed it about 3 months ago. thats why I need to put it in now before it gets to be like 10 degrees outside eek! . It would take alot of B@lls to go all winter without heat. I sure as **** aint payin $800 to have heat for just the winter. I'd have to live in Alaska to pay that much. I just hope everything goes well if I do it myself. thumbs_u
