Hello all Sho and Base model enthusiasts. I'm new, I'm actually a member of www.beretta.net, but as my Beretta is out of commision currently I am driving a '94 Taurus LS.. might be LE, don't know it's my parents car.

Anyway the windshield began to get foggy and we determined that the heater core was dead.

After checking out the CD for the car, and pulling the glove box off and removing a large plastic piece that uncovered round fan I got stuck on where to find the heater core.

Obviously the people on this board know plenty more about then I do, and I could tell you everything anyone would want to know about a Chevy Beretta.. so could you help me out?

I need to know how to get the dash off and how to get the cover and core out and where the **** it is.. and how to find the lines disconnects for under the hood.

Thanks so so much in advance, hope this is in the right section...

-Jason

Worst job I have ever done in my life. I had to replace it on my 89 SHO. You need to pull the whole dash off. You will also need to disconnect the hard lines on the engine side of the firewall...both coolant and refrigerant lines. It takes a special tool (I borrowed it from a mechanic friend). I had the whole dash layin on the two front seats bunji corded to the oh shit handles. You will need to take of steering wheel and part of the steering column.

If I remember right (its been two years) the heater core itself is in a plastic box about in the center of the car. Its only a 40-50 dollar part but takes a long time to put in.

Definitely a pita. The chiltons manual gives a pretty good description of how to do the job. The tools for removing the A\C lines can be had at some auto stores or sears for about 7 bucks. You will have to have the A\C evacuated unless you do it yourself.
