the actual housings or the bulbs? bulbs simply twist right out, the housings i believe unscrew pretty simply, albeit time consuming. unfortunately i dont recall right now but i believe there are four screws (one on each corner) on each light, and i think each may have a black rubber protector over it, but it should be plain to see where they screw in. there are also two adjustment poles on the light housing, i believe these need to be unscrewed as well. if i find im wrong when i consult my chiltons later i will edit the post. hope this helps!

Well, until somebody consults a manual and says otherwise, I think there are 3 of said posts, and you can free each one by removing the associated metal clip. These simply pull up and the housing is free.

Oh, and if you break one you can find cheap replacements in th "Help!" section at most auto parts stores.

Yeah, after you simply remove the airbox from the driver side, and you simply remove the battery from the pass side so you can get your hands in there to unscrew them! :D

Is this just an ATX thing?

I have no problem replacing the bulbs in my '89 without removing anything. Just reach in, twist, pull, remove, replace, fit into place, turn, done.
