I was at the store last night and was looking at replacement bulb for my 93 ATX. I was on the way there am almost hit a pedestrian who was standing in the middle of the road. It didn't help that he was wearing dark clothes but it scared the h*ll out of me. I would like to buy a new set of lights but money is tight right now (when is it not? :frown: ). I saw some Sylvania Cool-Blue 9007 for about $20 for a set of two. I've heard that some bulbs will melt the headlight b/c they get to hot. Is this true? How can I tell what a safe wattage is? I'm trying to see at night for the cheapest possible price.

Get Silvana SilverStars and a wireharness upgrade kit. This will give you the best setup.

Go toSUVLights for a wireharness upgrade.

In addition to adding a harness from SUV lights, make sure your headlights are aimed properly.

I second the silverstars. Had them in my 93 and now in my 89 and they are great. Aiming is the key though and ill be the first to admit i still cant get my aiming right.... they are either too high or too low. It just takes some fine tuning though.

Silverstars are good. A new harness is good. Aiming is good.

And if your lenses are cloudy, clean em up or pick up some new ones.

Silverstars are over-rated.

Sylvania's own Xtravision are brighter (especially in rain and snow), cost 1/2 as much, and last longer. They just don't look white like the Silverstars.
If you really want better lighting, do a search on fog/driving lights.

Try Novus #2 on your housings if theyre cloudy. And try a harness upgrade first. You'd be amazed at what improvment will happen with a good #12 harness. A couple of Bosch relays and and a little bit of time.
