Question about the Headlight assembly for the Gen III.

The driver side of my car was recently hit while parked in a parking lot. The driver's side headlight assemply will be replaced during the body work. I'm going to order a passenger side one since they were both pretty scratched up any way over the years.

There appears to be two part numbers. XF1Z13008AA for 06/10/98 on up and F6DZ13008A for pre 06/10/98.

Are the two parts interchangeable? My 98 has a production date of June 1998.

Depends on who makes them. Eagle Eyes are junk and will yellow within a year. I have a TYC one on and a new Ford on mine now. Both on at the same time. The Ford one is by far the best.

I still say someone needs to get just the lens to sell. It is really easy to just change that one part.

Got a brand new Ford one on the drivers side now. Just placed an order for the passenger side one at carpartswholesale.com, $88.12 shipped. Not sure if they carry Eagle Eyes or TYC though. We'll see.

I bought some new ones off ebay and I belive they were the egale eyes.
They certainly look nice as **** when their brand new. When I received mine the rubber part around the lense was falling off in some spots. BUt some crazy glue fixed that. I just put these on the car about 5 days ago and well I'll just have to wait and see if they yellow up over time. I have my projector HIDs in their so hopefully it's the halogen bulb that does it, probably not though

The site Mr Anonymous spake of has DEPOs for sale. On par with the Eagle Eyes. IMHO.. Had some of their front turn signal, still do they are sitting in the shed brand new. You definitely get what you pay for and OEM is the best followed by the TYC who is an OEM supplier for Toyota.

The Eagle Eye lights are fine. All the aftermarket lights are made in the same plant in Taiwan and just get different boxes. There's a whole lot of bad information floating around out there...

As one who has had a Eagle Eye lens and after 6 months it looked as bad as my 4 year old OEM one. Currently I have a 3 year old TYC one that is as good as the three year old OEM one I say there is a big difference. The Eagle Eye went in the trash.

TYC is the OEM Toyota supplier and other OEM Asian car makers. But time will tell for those with the Depos and Eagle Eyes, maybe they have improved over the last couple of years.

The TYC front turn signals I got are crystal clear. The DEPO front turn signals I got were as opaque as a milk jug when new out of the box.

Installed my new headlight assembly yesterday. My Eagle Eyes headlight assembly had the same problem with the rubber seal around the lens as Dylan's had. I think its their packaging that causes the rubber to come off. They use some kind of foam packaging that forms a tight fit around the object being packaged. The foam hardens up to keep the object from moving in the box.

My new OEM ford head light assembly had a new Sylvania 9007 bulb in it. The Eagle Eyes assembly came with an Eale Lite bulb. These are crap. I've used these before when I went to the autoparts store and bought the cheapest bulbs they had.

Replaced both bulbs with a set of Sylvania Silver Stars and these bulbs are great. Much better that the OEM bilbs, Eagle Lite bulbs, PIAA 9007 and Cool Blue bulbs I've used in the past.
