I want to change up my headlights to something with a bit more blue to it. Are there any recommended bulb changes out there? Is changing to HID easy? What does everyone have

Osram CBIs are the only thing I would change too but these days I am all about light output. They are not cheap though, be on the lookout for fakes.

So I noticed it only allows up to 8k. 10ks wouldn't work? Not enough amps to the ballast or the ballast doesn't make enough power for them? I put a 10k bulb in and they come on but flicker and turn off after a few minutes.

Prob because they are crap bulbs not because of the color temp. FYI you lose output and visibility in rain/snow/fog as the color temp rises. I thought that trend has passed anyway.

I did go with cheaper bulbs thought I'd give them the ole college try. Looks like they are getting returned and I'll go with the provided link above.

You might want to try morimotos if you are trying to save money. They are better than most besides the OEM manufacturers and are noticeably cheaper. Personally. Wouldn't go over 6k but that's another conversation all together.

And as an Oncoming driver really blue lights scatter and blind me badly enough that I can no longer see the road. Met one in light fog the other night in a changing radius curve on my winding mountain road and virtually stopped until he was past. Drawn like a moth to the flame we would have been exchanging insurance information if I hadn't stopped for the wall of glare.

I agree with the 6000K too. Beyond that it starts becoming real obvious to other motorists....and if you happen to cross the wrong Police officer you know the drill. I have 6K with about a 5% "Rock Strike Prevention" film to darken the front just enough to be sporty but not overly obtrusive.

NOTE: Headlight Tint and Window Tint percent are different. Where window tint 5% is one of the darkest with the headlight the 5% is one of the lightest.

People that use hids without projectors are ignorant us should make it a law like uk has the projectors creates a sharp cutoff to help keep light out of oncoming eyes

2013 sho +pp is there any decent "upgrade" with just a bulb change for this car. I want to see better, if there is a bulb worth my desire?

yea, 3000 lumens from factory headlights is ****** 1993 Mustang w/ 9004 bulbs, 700 lumens low beam and 1200 high beam. a 2003 Marauder w/ 9007 bulbs, 1000 lumens low beam and 1350 high beam. 9007 bulbs are still in use in new cars today
people complaining about our headlights probably need to aim the low beam properly and use the high beam when appropriate.

The beam pattern sucks compared to GMC terrains projectors.
And the headlights are aimed the right way not up into people's face but strait ahead and level. So i feel they need some help.

I dont see what that thread has to do with Taurus or Terrains. If you feel the beam pattern isn't up to ***** new bulbs won't do much to help. Upgrading the projectors themselves probably will.

I would change that to HID projectors/reflectors but agree totally. There are HID reflector designs my Navigator had factory reflector HIDs. And there are halogen reflectors like the lower level Taurus.
